A. Any link from anywhere cannot harm your site as long as you don't link back. If you link back to a bad site, that is another story and can harm you. Bad sites or inferior sites linking to you are not counted by search engines. They are not harmful, just useless links. If search engines mind bad sites linking to your site then we would have a scenario where competitors will create bad links for each other. Sometimes scammers will promise to get you to page 1. You may indeed get to page 1 easily but for a keyword that won't make you money. If they show you a site on page 1, look at the keyword used. It may have nothing to do with the site. Using a keyword not being used by any other would naturally land a site to page 1, and maybe alone… [cont.]

You put other websites text ads on your page and yours appears on others. And it really is 100% free, forever. A. I would consider a link exchange, but I would be more likely to review your work for my partner galleries. A 1:1 link exchange is way less effective than actually hosting some works on each others' sites, for a commission trade.

Be selective about who you accept as an affiliate, why sign up an affiliate if they don't have anything to offer. 1. an existing email subscriber base that they can instantly market your product to and then you can hopefully turn them into your customer going forward. 2. already receive a good amount of daily visitors to their site and hopefully for a relevant topic If an affilaite does not at least have one of the above going for them, you could just be giving away money because by weakening your brand or just paying them a percentage for a sale that would have ended up happening on your site in the first place.
