What causes boilover in a 1997 chrysler concorde, from the coolant reservoir drain hose?
Q. 1997 Chrysler Concorde, the top of the coolant reservoir (this car doesn't have access to the actual radiator, if you need to add fluid has to be done from the coolant reservoir) has the drain hose in case of overfill or boilover. The drain hose is attached to the reservoir, but the other end is not attached to anything. I noticed it overheating today, and when looking under the hood couldn't see any leaks. Under the car, there was a slight leak coming from the side of the reservoir (passenger side) almost behind and in front of the wheel. When I cut the car off, water started shooting from the hose for boilovers. That either shouldn't happen, or it should be routed back into the tank. Any clue what causes this? The fans work, and the top… [cont.]

A. either the thermostat may be sticking on it,or the radiator may be getting stopped up in the bottom of it ,that will cause them to do this real bad,and the only way to stop this is take the radiator off ,and have it cleaned out,it would be a good idea to have this done anyway ,if that's not it you can at least rule that out,but those cars were good for that, that would be where i would start looking on that one, ,that and the thermostat, good luck on it.

How much does it cost the manufacturer to build a Chrysler 300 M?
Q. I am wondering what the actual cost is to build the Chrysler 300 M before it is shipped to a dealer. How much does it cost Chrysler?
Asked by nolan_cocke - Sat Nov 17 22:24:22 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. 1st - the 300M is no longer in production, it was superceded by the 300 and 300C. The 300M was a front wheel drive sports-luxury sedan which shared many components with the Dodge Intrepid, and Chrysler Concorde. When you ask cost to manufacturer, what costs do you want included: * parts costs * labor costs * engineering and product design * certification costs (EPA, NHTSA, etc) * manufacturing engineering costs * tooling costs * plant and corporate overhead * advertising * warranty fund * etc And in what volume? If you buy 10,000 of something, it is alot cheaper per unit than if you buy 1 or 10. For example, the products my company sells, to make one it costs about $3000-; to make 1000 per year, it costs under $50- each, plus about $75 [cont.]

The GM/UAW compromise basically guaranteed that the next wave of workers to replace the current GM workforce will get paid half -- literally half -- what union auto workers are currently paid. No one, except public radio, has even mentioned this minor detail of the compromise. Every day, the US comes closer to third world/ service economy status. A. Use the key in either front door lock cylinder to unlock it. They should both have a disarm switch that will turn it off when the cylinder is turned. However, sometimes one switch doesn't work, so if that happens, just try the other door.

How type of rims can I use on my 2004 Chrysler Sebring Sedan?
Q. We are looking for a set of 4 rims for my 2004 Chrysler Sebring Sedan, and I cant seem to find exactly what I can use. We need the rims to be 16" x 6.5" (6"). We were told we can't use steel rims is that true? We were also told you can use Dodge stratus rims, is that correct as well? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, these rims are so hard to find!
Asked by sweetsupplies85 - Fri Oct 30 11:27:27 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The stock rims were steel so you can use steel rims. The Dodge Stratus sedan is the sister car to the Sebring so the wheels are interchangable. I suggest giving the local salvage yards a call and if they don't have them call Greenleaf or LKQ (they also have websites). Good luck.

How do you replace the interior door handle on a chrysler sebring?
Q. I have a 2004 Chrysler Sebring and the driver side interior door handle doesn't work anymore. When I pull on it nothing happens. Does anyone know how to replace it or where I can find instructions on how to replace it.
Asked by BethB - Sun May 17 01:43:54 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The problem is more likely with the linkage inside the door than the handle itself. Could be as simple as broken retainer at one of the pivot points. Easy to fix once you get the door panel off, try checking with your local auto parts stores as some carry repair manuals that will give you step by step details to remove the panel.

What Types of Changes is Chrysler Planning To Its Vehicle Line Up?
Q. When you look at Ford and GM's plans for the future, they seem to be moving quickly towards fewer, more fuel efficient models. Such as cutting out vehicle models no one is buying, changing their more successful models so that they are more fuel efficient, and introducing new some smaller, cheaper cars. However, I can't seem to find any information about Chrysler's plans for their lineup. Is there any information about new cars they are coming out with or changes to their existing models to make them more appealing?
Asked by agactual - Mon Jun 1 19:30:38 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Chrysler is selling to FIat so that they can have smaller more fuel efficient vehicles to sell. They will rebadge Fiats as Chryslers and sell them. Fiats may also be sold at Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealerships. Unknown just how things will work out. I have gone to Fiats web site and they have some interesting cars.

Is it true that all Chrysler dealerships have 5 days to sell inventory before they all close?
Q. I'm thinking about buying a car. I heard a rumor that Chrysler dealerships have only 5 days to sell their cars, then they don't have a license anymore, and the factories are not going to buy back the cars. So they are supposedly slashing prices to get whatever money they can get. Does anyone know anything about it?
Asked by Sherry B - Thu Jun 4 22:15:23 2009 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments
A. No, but it is true that only dealers who were contributors to liberal politicians made the cut for both GM and Chrysler. This will all come out in court and could reflect very negatively on this corrupt administration.

A. The battery may still be dead. It takes a lot more amps to turn the starter than to run the radio. It is possible that the radio works, but there is not enough juice left to start the car. That clicking noise tells me that the battery is indeed dead or the starter is gone.

What is going to happen with my Chrysler lease?
Q. I have a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the lease set to expire in October of 2008, but with Chrysler ending their leasing program starting August 2008 what should I do? I was planning on just leasing a Chrylser Sebring just to avoid all the costs with turning the car in, but will I still be able to do that? Are they ending the leasing program all together?
Asked by Christina - Wed Jul 30 11:48:00 2008 - - 5 Answers - 1 Comments
A. Chrysler is indeed ending its lease program. A few other manufacturer's are as well. The problem has been the recent plummet in value of those Hemi trucks and SUV. The leasing companies have all posted huge losses thanks to the high residuals when compared to the actual market value of those vehicles. They may have a contracted residual of say $18k on a truck that is now worth $10K. Oh - and here is a PERFECT example of why leases do in fact work for some people. Imagine if you had a 5-yr finance contract on that Jeep and wanted to trade it! You would be buried past your eyebrows. When the lease period ends, you will just turn in the car. If you are over miles, then the mileage penalty comes into play. If damage to the vehicle… [cont.]

A. If I were you, I would look into a Toyota Solara, Honda Accord coupe or Altima Coupe. The reason I say this is because they don't cost a lot of money, they last a long time, and resale value is excellent. The Crossfire has dismal resale value and will be nowhere near as reliable. Check Edmunds.com for reviews on cars in that class and you'll see what I am talking about.

Q. I own a 05 jeep grand cherokee I like it but I don't like the amount it costs to fill it. My husband found a really good deal on a chrysler crossfire its an 04 and is loaded with low miles. I am considering trading it. Anyone have a crossfire or know anything about them. I know its not a good winter car but thats ok we have a 4wd vehicle.
