A. Try putting 'Safari' in search on the start menu bar and then double click the icon when it is found. Might work!

What is the safest web browser to use other then firefox?
Q. I am wondering if anyone could recommend a safer web browser to use now that i heard that firefox has just as many security flaws as internet explorer.
Asked by Kingcheese19 - Fri Dec 5 10:14:26 2008 - - 11 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Firefox is open source and that means a lot of people work on it all the time and they respond rather rapidly to security threats. Add "No Script" to Firefox as an add-on. That's why we are currently using this one instead of Internet Explorer. Opera is not as popular and therefore not as targeted. But they have been recently having some problems. Nonetheless, still a good browser. If you have Windows, Chrome is your enemy! Apples don't go well with oranges. When the Google Browser Chrome goes out of beta, it will probably be worth your effort.

On another computer, I accidentally deleted all the web browsers. How can I reinstall one without a browser?
Q. I'm on a different computer in the house right now, but on my computer I accidentally deleted all my web browsers. How can I get a web browser back on there without an actual web browser. Is it possible?
Asked by Aaron - Tue Apr 7 23:34:05 2009 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It depends on if you uninstalled the browsers or just deleted them. Try searching for them first. Start> (depending on which os you have) Find or Search>Make sure you search in all files and folders> Search for Internet Explorer. If that dosen't work try windows update (im assuming you have windows) That may restore it. If you uninstalled them then i dont know that to tell ya. Hope this helps

What things make a web browser good and what are must-haves for one?
Q. I've been learning VB for quite while now and now I've got an assignment to make a 'simple' web browser. But now that I'm busy anyway I was thinking: "Why not make a decent browser while I'm at it?". So can anybody give me the must-haves for a web browser (I'm experienced in Photoshop so I have no problems making the buttons). Thanks.
Asked by WickeTD - Mon May 24 13:30:22 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Must-haves include history (both a list and the abilty to go back and forth), bookmarks, reload, stop, new tab, new window. Good ones have plug-in support, built-in search bar, themes. These are of course other than the most basic ones like scroll bar, progess bar, url bar.

How do I run a web browser from linux command line?
Q. I an VERY new to linux. I have installed Fedora 5 in text mode. I have a Linux book and am trying to slowly learn linux. So from the console, or command line, how do I run a web browser. Also how do I run the X Windows System?
Asked by twoskinsoneman - Thu Oct 9 11:17:26 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. If you installed in text mode, maybe you didn't install X. You probably have a text mode browser. Try lynx or elinks. If the startx command doesn't work, try "yum install x-window-system". By the way, Fedora 5 is old. The current version of Fedora is 9.

What causes your web browser to pop up so many times?
Q. I found that I acidently clicked on something and it caused the web browser to pop up so many times it wouldn't stop. No it didn't have to do with a joke site because I am aware that sites like that cause it. Please explain your answer in full details and if you can post a web site reference to your response that would be good also. I didn't click on it on purpose for it to pop up. It happens by accident. I am really looking for more serious answers thanks. I am looking for an explanation not software thanks.

A. if you said what you clicked, that would help, such as something in a web browser, or a program on your computer, or a shortcut on your computer... but you can try putting a pop-up blocker in place, heres how for IE: tools menu-->Internet Opitions-->privacy tab-->check the box at the bottom and click settings-->at the bottom, change the filter settings to "High"-->click ok out of every box, then completely close the web browser-->open it again, and see if the popping stopped... you also might want to run a virus scan using whatever antivirus program you have (if your using the windows one, get this: -download avast, close internet connection, disable current antivirus, start avast i hope this was helpful

A. It's been awhile since I've played with VB, so this may or may not work. You want to go to the even "right mouse down" for the object that contains the webpage. This is the part that I am not sure if it'll work, put this code in that event: Cancel = 1
